Rotary Community Corps/People Serious About Litter

Port St. Lucie Rotary is proud to sponsor the Rotary Community Corps/People Serious About Litter, whose members volunteer to Keep Port St Lucie Beautiful and free from litter, a project led by our own Gary Smith! A Rotary Community Corps is a group of non-Rotarians who share our commitment to service. RCC members plan and carry out projects in their communities and support local Rotary club projects. There are more than 7,500 corps in over 80 countries.

Students Serious About Litter

The Rotary Community Corps/People Serious About Litter now offers a program in which students at Treasure Coast High School can earn community service hours by picking up litter in or near the neighborhood where they live. Enrollment is open to students in grades 9 - 12.  Students who wish to participate must satisfy the following requirements:

1. Meeting with and consent of parents or guardian

2. Identification of work location

3. Demonstration of safety skills

4. Timely reporting

5. Verification should be expected

Students will receive a litter grabber, a bright safety vest, a bag holder, and safety instruction.
